Background Tutorial

This is a tutorial to offer information on how to download and save a background and the authors logo, to your hard drive. Click on backgrounds if you would like to use one of mine for your website. The backgrounds are free, however I would like credit for my work. Place Backgrounds by Connie text or my logo on your page with the background on it and link it back to my site.

Use the following html to form a text link to my site.

<CENTER>
<FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE="3">
<A HREF="https://cojema.tripod.com/graphics1.html">"Backgrounds by Connie"</A>
</CENTER>

It will look like this, except font color may vary:

Backgrounds by Connie

There are two images to chose from to form a graphic link to my site.For the first image use the following html.

<A HREF="https://cojema.tripod.com/graphics1.html"><IMG SRC="connie.jpg" WIDTH="145" HEIGHT="100" BORDER="0"></A>
</CENTER>

It will look like this:

If you prefer the second image use the following html.

<CENTER>
<A HREF="https://cojema.tripod.com/graphics1.html"><IMG SRC="connie1.jpg WIDTH="240" HEIGHT="71" BORDER="0"></A>
</CENTER>

It will look like this:

If you left click on either image it will take you to my backgrounds page.

If you leave out the <CENTER> and </CENTER> the text or image will not center on the page. The <CENTER> orders the computer to center anything following the order. The </CENTER> stops the order and anything after it will not be centered.

If you want your image centered on the page with nothing on either side of it, put <BR> above <CENTER> and after </CENTER> like this.

<BR>
<CENTER>
<IMG SRC="connie.jpg" WIDTH="145" HEIGHT="100" BORDER="0">
</CENTER>
<BR>

If you would like a space between your image and the next line of text or image, add a second <BR> like this.

<BR><BR>
<CENTER>
<IMG SRC="connie.jpg" WIDTH="145" HEIGHT="100" BORDER="0">
</CENTER>
<BR><BR>

Download the image of your choice to your hard drive.

If you see a background you want, download it to your hard drive by right clicking (for Mac, click and hold) on the image or background. A menu will open up where you should click with your mouse on "save picture as" or "save image as" and that will open a window for you to choose where you would like to save the file, then click save. My documents is a good place to save your files if you are just starting out. Don't forget where you put your file. You save the logo image the same way and save it in the same file as the background.

If you use webtv you can go to Transload for information on saving the backgrounds, without linking them back to tripod. For other webtv questions try this web site.

If you would like to be listed on my page of background users with a link to your site, send me an email including your web site title and url.
